After Solidres core is upgraded successfully, install the latest version of all commercial plugins one by one using Joomla Extension Installer. Note that you don't need to remove the currently installed versions. Since Solidres for Joomla v1.8.0, there is a new button "Check updates" in Solidres System Info page, you can use that button to check for new update info of all installed plugins/modules/templates in your site.

Make sure all template override files are updated according to the new version. If you have any issues after upgrading, make sure that you disable all template override for Solidres in your templates and try again. Template override is stored in JROOT/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE_NAME/html/com_solidres, you can rename or remove this folder. Since Solidres for Joomla v1.7.0, you can rename those template overrides in Solidres System Info page, it is more convenient.

Make a test reservation at the front end and ensure it is working correctly.

Note: Since v1.0.0, Solidres no longer stores language file in JROOT/administrator/language or JROOT/language, if you are still storing language files in those locations, please move to

For Solidres component: /administrator/components/com_solidres/language/ && /components/com_solidres/language/

Solidres - Module Currency: this module is used for switching the active currency.

HINT Navigate to Joomla Administrator > Extensions > Modules

2. Install sample data

The next step is to install the sample data for Solidres. Go to Solidres by clicking on Components → Solidres in your Joomla backend's main menu. In the System Info tab, click "System Info".

3. Install demo images

If you've installed the sample data for Solidres, then it's a really good idea to also install the example images that Solidres makes available to download on their site, as this will ensure your sample content has example images that will help when creating the front page and reservation page layouts.

Please go to http://solidres.com/download to download sample media package. In the Solidres for Joomla section, click on the View Files button for the latest stable version of Solidres, you will be taken to a page with a list of different files.

Click on the Download Now button at the bottom of the Media.zip file. Once the download completes, installing this package is similar to installing other Solidres extension types.

4. Configure Joomla menu item

Now you need to add a new menu item with type "Solidres - Show a single reservation asset". Your user will access your asset via this menu on the front end.

After your menu is added, go to Joomla Module Manager and edit module Check Availability, then in the parameter "Target itemid", choose the menu item that you have just added. When your user checks for availability on the front end, the module will redirect your guest to this menu item.

5. Configure Google Maps API Key

Google requires a FREE API Key for accessing their Maps product. Get a free API key here and enter it into Solidres Options - Component - Google Maps API Key.

In the API list, there are many options to choose from, make sure that you choose the correct one

Google Maps JavaScript API (for Solidres Options - Component - Google Map API Key)

Google Static Maps API (for Solidres Options - Hub - Google Static Map API Key)

6. Enable at least 01 payment method for your property

By default, Solidres includes 02 built-in payment methods: Pay Later and Bank Wire. First please make sure that you enable it in Solidres System Info page, then configure it by editing your property, then they will show up in front end > reservation step 2 "Guest info & Payments".

7. Check the result in the front-end of your Joomla site

Solidres core hierarchy

A full working setup needs to be created in the following order:

Category: if your system has only one property, this field is required but not important. If your system has multiple properties (using Hub plugin), then you can define a category for your property. It will be used in front-end filtering in search results page as well as in the search module where guest can search for a specific category.

Property: accommodation like hotels, apartments, villas, B&B, resorts.

Room type: the property's room type. If your property is a room based businesses like hotels, there is no need for further explanation. If your property is an apartment or a house which guest can book as a single unit, then room type in this scenarios acts like a whole property.

Room: the smallest bookable unit for your room type. For example, your Double Room has 5 available rooms, then you should create 05 rooms for Double Rooms. In case of villa/apartment/house booking, you can create 01 room to represent 01 villa/apartment/house.

Initial configuration for Hub plugin

After installed Hub plugin, there are several steps that needed to be done:

Create new 03 menu items:

Menu item with type "Solidres - Properties list": this is a page that contains the search results, after a guest search for availability via Advanced Search module, they will be redirected to this page to view search results.

Menu item with type "Solidres - Partner dashboard": this is the front end dashboard where your partner manages their own properties in the front end. Only partner can access the front-end dashboard.

Menu item with type "Solidres - Partner route": The route base for the partner URL, if no specific partner is selected, this menu should be a hidden menu.

Front-end partner's dashboard

A partner is a user who has full access to his own properties only. With Hub plugin, a partner can manage properties, room types, reservations, coupons, extras, limit booking, discounts, statistics, feedbacks and experiences from front end without having to access the Joomla's backend. This kind of separation of duty increase your site security and simplify backend ACL configuration.

And here are the screenshots of the partner's dashboard in the front-end:

The frontend management UI is pretty much the same as the backend, we keep them consistent to make your management tasks become easier.

Solidres Options

Go to Solidres Options page - Component tab, Partner user group to choose a Joomla user group for your partners. "Editor" user group is a good choice. You also need to make sure that Partner user group and Customer user group are different.

After that, make sure your chosen Joomla user group has enough permission, go to Solidres Options Page - Permissions tab, click on that user group and make sure it has the following permissions: Create, Edit, Edit State, Edit Own.

Install and publish the following modules:

Advanced Search module (mod_sr_advancedsearch), this is a supportive module of Hub plugin which provides the ability to search multiple properties by different conditions like category, location (city), property's name. Don't forget to set the parameter "Targer Itemid" to the search page menu item that you created in the previous step.

Filter module (mod_sr_filter), this step is optional. Please note that to show the price filter, you have to edit your currency in the backend and define price ranges into field "Filter range" first. The price range format is similar to this one:

0-59

60-139

140-209

210-279

280-plus

Location Map module (mod_sr_locationmap), this module is used to show the map for the current results page. This step is optional.

My Recent Search module (mod_sr_myrecentsearch), this module is used to show the properties that guest has been visited on your site. This step is optional.

Assets module (mod_sr_assets), this module is often used to show a list of properties with slideshow/carousel, the most appropriate place for this module is the homepage where you want to showcases some of your features properties.

Review and save permissions settings (if you are using ACL plugin):

If you are using ACL plugin, then you need to go to Solidres Backend > Access Control, then review the permissions that you want to give to your partner group and adjust the permissions if you want.
